Ascolta

Ascolta (Listen), the central element of the trilogy including Osserva and Parla, is a work of refined conceptual synthesis within the One Line Collection. Against an optical white background—pure and free from distractions—Remoi’s black line traces a face profile with extreme agility. The mark is thin and fluent, almost ethereal, symbolizing the lightness required to receive the sounds and voices of the world. A touch of intense red on the lips recalls the vitality of being, while a small hint of blue in the eye suggests an analytical depth of thought.

The defining feature of the work is its strong three-dimensional component: two large sculptural ears, made of oxidized ferrous material, are applied to the outside of the red frame, protruding into the viewer's physical space. This textural, rusted detail contrasts with the cleanliness of the pictorial stroke, emphasizing that listening is a concrete, demanding, and profoundly human act.
