Erre
In Erre, the Motivi Infantili (Childhood Motifs) collection by Remoi returns to exploring the liveliness of yellow, chromatically reconnecting to the solar brightness already encountered in Esse Uno. In this composition, the artist transforms the structure of a letter into an organic and floating sign, which almost seems to come alive like an abstract flower or a dreamlike creature born from a child's imagination.
The background is a field of uniform and vibrant lemon yellow, applied with a care that emphasizes the electric luminosity of the entire canvas. Standing out in this radiant space is the central motif: a stylized "R," traced with a wide and irregular black mark that appears almost transparent in some places, revealing the speed of the pictorial gesture. As a distinctive hallmark of the collection, the black is overlaid by a white, filamentary line in relief, which runs through the entire structure, adding a tactile and sculptural dimension to the graphic mark.
The shape of Erre unfolds with a spontaneous grace: the upper loop is wide and light, while the "legs" of the letter stretch downwards and outwards with a fluid curvature, ending in small knots of color that suggest a rooting in the void. This approach celebrates the essentiality of the childhood stroke, stripped of all academic rigor to rediscover the freedom of play. With this work, Remoi demonstrates how the simplicity of an alphabetical form can become, through pure color and the strength of the gesture, an icon of joy and visual regeneration.
