Linea Interrotta

With the work Linea Interrotta (Interrupted Line), Remoi's Pulcinella collection explores the concept of fragmentation and pause, recalling the unpredictable and sometimes melancholic nature of the Neapolitan mask. In this piece, the dualism between black and white manifests through a mark that breaks and recomposes itself, creating a visual narrative suspended between continuity and interruption.

The canvas maintains the collection's classic vertical division: two deep, dense black lateral wings enclose a central luminous white space. In the center, the "motif" develops as a winding path: broad, shaded gray brushstrokes delineate a Z-shaped or lightning-like structure that traverses the space, suggesting a movement that is suddenly diverted.

The signature raised textural filament runs along these shapes, alternating between black and white, adding a tactile and nervous dimension to the work. On the lateral black bands, thin vertical white lines and small points of light seem to float, providing a dynamic counterpoint to the solidity of the background.
