Mamozio nero

Mamozio Nero (Black Mamozio) takes Remoi’s One Color Collection into an exploration of the densest and most absolute darkness. In this work, color ceases to be pigment and becomes "liquid night"—a substance that seems to absorb every ray of light only to return pure tactile vibration.

The artwork is one of visceral and dark minimalism. The canvas is a monolith of bituminous black, applied with a technique that favors accumulation and relief. The surface is marked by a dense web of signs, scratches, and circular movements impressed directly into the fresh medium, creating a chaotic and hypnotic dynamism. There is no defined focal point; the entire surface pulses, evoking the bubbling of a primordial substance or the unfathomable depth of the unconscious.

The choice of the title "Mamozio"—a term that in popular tradition indicates a silent, almost dazed or motionless figure—suggests a mute and monumental presence that observes without speaking. The frame, made of oxidized and brushed iron with its typical burnished hues and visible welding marks, acts as a raw, industrial boundary that barely contains the expansive energy of the black. Mamozio Nero is a work about deafening silence and the power of the unspoken, transforming chromatic emptiness into an inescapable physical presence.
