Pecunia Non Olet (Money does not smell) addresses a provocative and timeless theme within Remoi's One Color Collection, using black not just as a color but as a symbol of what is hidden or absorbed by the dynamics of power and money.

The artwork possesses a dark and solemn magnetism. The canvas is entirely covered in a thick layer of absolute black, worked with a nervous gesturality that creates a tormented surface rich in texture. At the center of the composition, engraved or modeled directly into the medium, the overlapping silhouettes of a cross and a circle emerge, recalling the dollar sign or an ancient coin. These marks are not painted but are "scars" within the paint that reflect light differently from the rest of the surface.

The title references Emperor Vespasian's famous phrase, suggesting that the value of money remains unchanged regardless of its source, which is often obscure or ethically questionable. The minimal black frame continues the work's chromatic continuity, transforming it into a monolith that absorbs the surrounding space. Pecunia Non Olet is a silent and powerful critique of materialism, where the artistic medium itself becomes a mirror of a reality where everything can be bought, yet nothing can be cleansed from the density of time's ink.
