Stromboli
Stromboli, an integral part of Remoi’s Abstract Collection, is a visual tribute to the untamed force of the famous volcano. The work moves away from dark tones to explode in a sulfurous yellow—vibrant and textural—that saturates the space, recalling the blinding light and heat of magmatic lands. As throughout the collection, the painted surface is enclosed by signature irregular edges, a chromatic "skin" that seems to float above the metallic base, heightening the sense of instability and transformation.
Interwoven across the canvas is a tangle of black, white, and red marks: trajectories of lapilli, lava flows, and smoke cutting through the air. The gesture is swift, nervous, and incisive, capturing the rhythm of a continuous and silent eruption. The tension between the verticality of the red drips and the horizontal expansion of the black marks creates a magnetic dynamism. Stromboli does not describe a landscape but captures its pure energy, transforming the artwork into a magnetic field where matter becomes light and the volcano becomes a universal graphic sign.
