Casetta Innevata
In Casetta Innevata (Snowy Little House), Remoi’s Natura Futura collection explores a dimension of absolute silence and temporal suspension. The work moves away from chromatic explosions and geometric symbols to immerse itself in a poetic and melancholic figuration, where the winter wilderness becomes the protagonist of a landscape that feels like it belongs to an ancestral future, far from the chaos of modernity.
The scene is dominated by a mountain range with sharp, snow-laden peaks, rendered with Remoi’s signature textural technique: decisive palette knife strokes creating brilliant white reliefs against a dense, magnetic night sky in shades of Prussian blue and smoky gray. Below the summits, a forest of dark, almost black fir trees frames the valley, providing depth and a sense of protection to the setting. The foreground vegetation is treated with a series of quick white touches that simulate frost and the accumulation of fresh snow on branches and the ground.
The focal element of the painting is the small wooden house on the left, partially submerged in snow. This detail introduces a human and intimate note within the vastness of the wilderness. The cabin appears as a solitary refuge, a bulwark of warmth and resistance immersed in the frost, evoking a sense of peace but also of extreme isolation. In Casetta Innevata, Remoi offers a vision of nature as a place of retreat and purification: a crystallized landscape where time seems to have stopped, inviting us to reflect on the need to rediscover a silent and respectful contact with the elements.
