Formalinea Cinque
In Formalinea Cinque, Remoi's exploration within the Formalinea collection reaches a new level of boldness and three-dimensionality. In this fifth chapter, abstraction pushes beyond the two-dimensionality of the canvas, transforming the line into a floating sculpture that inhabits space with a material and dynamic presence.
The pure and minimalist white background serves as a silent stage for an architecture of complex marks. The protagonist "motif" is not merely traced but shaped: a dense and twisted entanglement of raised white filaments, alternately glossy and matte, creates an organic and intricate volume. These sculptural lines, applied with Remoi's characteristic material technique, overlap, wind, and intertwine, suggesting the shape of an imaginary creature, a constellation of thoughts, or a calligraphic imprint emerging from the void.
The dramatic play of light and shadow, emphasized by the material relief, gives the work a tangible depth and texture. Formalinea Cinque is an inquiry into the line's ability to become body and matter's ability to become a sign, where the purity of white and the power of form invite a tactile and contemplative dialogue, celebrating the creative energy that gives life to abstraction.
