Glú Glú
Glu Glu, a cornerstone work of Remoi’s One Line Collection, celebrates the ritual of wine through a visual language that blends three-dimensionality with graphic synthesis. The heart of the composition is dominated by a single, unbroken white line that, with calligraphic elegance, outlines the silhouettes of a bottle and a glass. This fluid stroke seems to dance over a deep, textural black background, where full-bodied brushstrokes and tone-on-tone drips create a rich and vibrant surface.
The piece stands out for its exceptional material insert in the upper left corner: a wrought-iron grapevine, complete with realistic leaves and bunches of grapes, emerging from the rusted metallic surface of the frame. Inside the glass outlines, splashes of ruby red filled with glimmers evoke the vitality of freshly poured wine. Glu Glu is a sensory experience that goes beyond sight; the onomatopoeic title recalls the sound of pouring, while the contrast between raw metal and the purity of the white line transforms a daily moment into an icon of design and contemporary art.
