Parentesi Creativa
With the work Parentesi Creativa (Creative Parenthesis), Remoi's Pulcinella collection deepens its investigation into the dualism of black and white, focusing on arched forms that seem to enclose a suspended space of thought. The title recalls the Neapolitan mask's ability to open ironic and profound "parentheses" within reality, here translated into an essential and sculptural visual language.
The canvas maintains the tripartite structure typical of the series: two lateral bands of solid, dense black provide a counterpoint to a white central zone where the creative action unfolds. The protagonists are two large semi-circular shapes, resembling graphic parentheses, created with textural gray shading and outlined by Remoi’s signature raised filament. These three-dimensional marks, alternating between black and white, give the shapes a tactile vibration that seems to lift off the surface.
Thinner, more dynamic lines cross the lower part of the canvas, creating a rhythm of oppositions that balances the static nature of the central volumes. On the outer black bands, vertical and sinuous white filaments add a note of light, emphasizing the work's verticality. Parentesi Creativa is a hymn to synthesis and aesthetic rigor, where every stroke contributes to a perfect balance between void and matter.
