Quattro Speciale
In Quattro Speciale (Special Four), Remoi's Pulcinella collection continues its visual narrative based on the absolute contrast between black and white. The painting unfolds through a tripartite structure, where two lateral wings of deep, textural black enclose a white central space—a symbol of purity and a stage for graphic action.
At the center, the artist composes an architecture of marks that seems to abstractly evoke the number four or an anthropomorphic figure in motion. The shapes are outlined by shaded gray brushstrokes that provide depth, upon which the signature raised textural filament is grafted. This three-dimensional line, alternating between black and white, creates a play of tangles and overlaps that brings dynamism to the entire composition.
On the outer black bands, Remoi intervenes with thin, vertical white filaments that seem to vibrate like taut strings, illuminating the darkness of the background and accentuating the work's vertical thrust. Quattro Speciale is a synthesis of rigor and expressive freedom, a tribute to the essentiality of the Neapolitan mask translated into a contemporary language of strong visual impact.
