Striscia
Striscia (Strip), an emblematic work from the One Line Collection, presents itself as an exercise in visual purification. Against a pristine and spacious white background, the artist plays with the tension between order and freedom. In the lower-left corner, a series of black horizontal lines of varying lengths creates a rhythmic base—resembling a barcode or a harmonic scale that anchors the composition. At the center, a single, brief, and vibrant black mark breaks the silence of the void like a heartbeat or a fleeting thought.
The strongest disruptive element is the large diagonal black band crossing the upper-right corner, extending beyond the physical boundaries of the frame. This three-dimensional element projects the artwork into the surrounding space, challenging the two-dimensionality of the canvas. Striscia is a work of dynamic balance: the stillness of the white meets the directional force of the lines, transforming minimalism into a narrative of pure spatial tension.
